Lynx interactive cinema ad
April 23rd, 2010 / hughie phillips

Mind’s Eye screened an interactive cinema ad at the Pearl & Dean Future Film Festival in front of over 200 people at the VUE cinema in London’s Leicester Square on 22nd April 2010. Our ‘Keeping Keeley’ campaign for Lynx Twist, was chosen to showcase the latest in interactive cinema technology.

So how did it all work?

Interactive cinema enables the audience to participate with the on-screen game and in the case of Lynx Twist, choose what will happen next in the advert by simply waving their hands in the air at the appropriate time.

It was a really great day out and we heard lots about what the next year holds in store for us in 3D and interactive cinema. Oh and we also saw the trailer for Despicable Me. Looks amazing!

the leaves are falling
September 29th, 2009 / max yeoman

Well the summer is drawing to a close and it's time to reflect on what has been a great last couple of months. Charles Mehling made his directorial debut for us for Just Glow, a new shampoo brand that is just launching in Norway.

The People's Reviewer campaign we have been working on alongside Tribal DDB has come to an end with some fantastic content produced by the contestants. Harriet Gore ended up the eventual winner and promptly gave her brand spanking new Volkswagen Tiguan to charity. Congratulations to her!

We produced a video for Starbucks new microsite about their assocation with Fairtrade while we also shot 4 short profile films for Sing Up as they look to continue to their fantastic work in schools around the country.

roll up, roll up!
July 7th, 2009 / hughie
Roll up, roll up! Our latest project has just launched.

The People’s Reviewer, created by Tribal DDB, aims to find the UK’s next Jeremy Clarkson by giving the new Volkswagen Tiguan to members of the public to review.
This has meant rigging the cars with minicams, giving the reviewers camcorders and crossing our fingers...a LOT!
You can view the first week’s efforts and vote for your favourite here (and you can even win a prize just for voting!):

As it happens, the competition is still open for entries until this Thursday (9th July), so if you’re feeling adventurous, have a go!

mind's eye channel 4 project launching very soon...
January 22nd, 2009 / hughie

An innovative blend of fact and fiction, drama and documentary,
Routes is a groundbreaking exploration of genetics and bio-ethics that
uses a variety of platforms to engage a young audience.  Whilst being
underpinned by credible, cutting edge science, Routes is an exciting,
entertaining experience that pulls you into its own mysterious universe.

The ‘front door’ of the format is an eight-part mini-series in which
outspoken comedienne Katherine Ryan submits herself to a series of
genetic tests. Is there such a thing as a gay gene? How much do genes
affect personality? What can my genes tell me about my risk of
disease? On this personal journey, Katherine will have to make some
difficult decisions about how much she really wants to know about
what’s hidden inside her DNA. But her journey is just the beginning of
yours…

The site will also host a whole range of fun, engaging supporting
material that will help our young audience engage further with the
issues raised by the documentary. Each episode will be accompanied by
a compelling flash game or ‘community challenge’ based on some aspect
of genetics. Taking part in these games and challenges allows users to
amass points. The highest scorers each week will be entered into a
prize draw to win a games console. A grand prize is also up for grabs
for the best players over the whole season.

i know it's been a while...
December 5th, 2008 / hughie

sorry for the delay since our last update but well.... we've been busy!

the c4 interactive drama, thriller, arg, live event, cross platform, transmedia (new word we learnt!) project has been going full steam ahead! charlie has come close to several breakdowns but is keeping it together nicely now with a little help from isi!

max, rob and phil have been gallivanting around africa with our friends at tk maxx to produce films about how their excellent fundraising efforts have enabled charities such as Save The Children, Comic Relief and Fairtrade to benefit projects in Mali, Uganda and Senegal.  max has tried to tell us that it was hard work but quite simply, if you are abroad in the sunshine while we have suffered in the cold wind and rain, we have little sympathy.

jez's promo spots for playstation's new eyetoy titles have recently gone live, ready for the xmas rush, so get your swords and pom poms out (oo-er) and have a go!

finally please check out our highlights montage on our homepage. we've had an amazing year and we've put a few clips together for your viewing pleasure...

Our talk to frank campaign was highly commended in the video section.

spanking new site ...

Welcome to our new site. Understanding what our clients want has moved us in this direction. While we loved our previous flash site this is easier to navigate and focuses on what we (and hopefully you) love: our Work. In the work section you can define by genre or director and can even click the magic little button that makes it play full screen. "Woohoo!" I can hear you scream. Woohoo indeed.

towering into the future...
August 5th, 2008 / hughie
Mind's Eye has finished production of the promotional film for Heron Tower, which will be the City of London's tallest skyscraper when construction is completed in 2011. The film, which will be one of the centrepieces of the showsuite was created using a unique approach for the commercial property market in the UK. Instead of using the traditional CGI fly-through approach much used in property marketing films, Mind's Eye used the latest in motion control and HD technology to put real actors and actresses into a CGI environment of the structure .

Elsewhere we have completed our first project for Poke London, creating a film for Orange. Finally, we produced a video for L'Oreal's international internal awards which was shown at a ceremony in Paris.

the evil mr power
April 2nd, 2008 / hughie
Following on from our Talk to Frank campaign which launched in January we have just produced a viral for the climate group. The video is fronted by Dan Powers, an evil man on a mission to promote Energy Wasting Day on April 1st!
The Starbucks conference was another roaring success with videos ranging from what coffee suits what food to what Starbucks puts back into the local communities.
Finally we filmed an interview with movie-god Dustin Hoffman about his long and successful film career.
no sex but drugs & rock n roll
January 1st, 2008 / Max

The new Talk to Frank campaign that we shot at the end of last year has just gone live. Since the launch last week the videos have attracted a lot of press interest and have been shown on the Ten o'clock news, BBC breakfast news and on the guardian website. Working alongside the team at digital agency Profero we shot 7 videos for the campaign and have ended up with a couple of brains and all sorts of incriminating drug paraphernalia lying around our office. The videos are currently being seeded on video sharing and social networking sites and are expected to be viewed 250 million times.

The most recent Starbucks conference was another great success. We produced 8 films for the event with videos ranging from what coffee suits what food to CSR films showing how Starbucks involve themselves with their local communities.

We recently had a 4 hi-def camera shoot with the legendary Dustin Hoffman for Sky Italia
On the charity front we have made a short film showing TK Maxx's work with Comic Relief in Ethiopia. The internal communications film was shown to all TK Maxx staff and put on their website to show the huge benefits of the fundraising.

We've filmed with one of Rock n Roll’s greatest legends (Ronnie Wood), shooting part of the content for his new website (Enter the caravan). This made for a very intimate gig for those of us lucky enough to be in the studio.

Finally we filmed the opening of Eastern Promises at the London Film Festival. Naomi Watts was a true charmer!

beware of the cobra
May 1st, 2007

Last month saw us turn a small greenscreen studio in Lewisham into a big awards ceremony for Cobravision. The 10sec Ident is for Cobra Beer's sponsorhip of ITV movies and will be broadcast nationwide from the start of May.

Earlier in the month we produced a DVD of the Learners First Awards 2007. The awards recognise learners who have improved their chances of success through developing skills.

Most importantly we have moved into new offices! Details of which are available on our contact page.

The Three Mexicans
March 1st, 2007

Last Month saw us shoot a video for Nokia through Digit London. The two day shoot was shot in the freezing cold but thankfully we evaded the snow by a day. The video will be shown to Nokia distributors around the world and is available to see in our work section.
We shot interviews with 3 Mexican directors (Alfonso Cuaron, Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu & Guillermo del Toro) who between them were nominated for no less than 16 oscars!

Finally we went to Amsterdam to shoot a video for a new drug called Gaboxadol for a large pharmaceutical company.

Happy New Year!

2007 is upon us and we couldn't be happier.

Since our last update we have shot a training video for KFC, the launch of the Pirelli Calendar, the premiere of Eragon as well as ongoing work for Starbucks and AXA. The KFC video was shot in several locations across the UK and is currently in post-production. The video will be posted when completed.

We have some very exciting projects coming up in 2007 which you will be hearing more about in the near future.

Busy, busy busy!

The last month has been our busiest ever having shot training and conference videos for Starbucks, a video for AXA insurance,  the opening of the London Film Festival, the Premiere of Dustin Hoffman’s latest movie 'Stranger than Fiction' and we even shot an  interview with Nicole Kidman about her long and distinctive movie career for Sky Italia!
